We welcome dancers from Bergvliet, Tokai, Constantia, Plumstead, Diep River, Wynberg, Lakeside, Muizenberg, Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek and nearby Cape Town communities. No partner or previous dance experience is needed, and your first group class is free.

No. You can come alone and rotate partners during class, or bring someone with you.

Meet the founder
A style shaped by technique, connection and people.
José Wymers is a professional dance instructor, choreographer and respected figure within Cape Town’s Ballroom, Latin and SBK communities. His journey began with a strong foundation in Ballroom and Latin dance, where he developed the technical precision, musical awareness and partner connection that continue to shape his teaching today.
Over the years, José expanded his craft into Salsa, Sensual Bachata and Urban Kizomba. The result is a distinctive style that blends solid technique with creativity, musicality and natural movement—recognisable both in the way he dances and in the dancers he develops.
More than patterns
José teaches people to understand the dance.
Students are not taught simply to memorise steps. They learn how to connect, communicate through movement and express their own personality on the dance floor. José’s patient, detailed and people-centred approach gives beginners room to grow while continuing to challenge experienced dancers.
His influence reaches beyond the students in his classes today. Over the course of his career, José has helped develop dancers who went on to become teachers and respected contributors to the wider dance community. That legacy of mentorship remains an important part of the Vibras story.
